Carmella Whitehead, MS, LMFT is a licensed psychotherapist, human potential activist, entrepreneur, and speaker. She specializes in helping people navigate through life transitions, marital conflict, separation, and divorce. She promotes self-intelligence and other-awareness as a source of understanding personal and global experiences.

A member of the United Nations Women, Carmella strives for gender equality by leading a global conversation for men’s mental well-being as well as women’s social and professional equalities. Her influence in shifting the current paradigm of masculine ideals and the stigma of men’s mental health has earned her invitations to speak at the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the North Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (NCMFT), and major universities. Carmella is also endorsed by the American Psychological Association and Psychology Today. She has spoken at conferences alongside Marianne Williamson and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Bryant McGill. Her thought-provoking writings have been published in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today best selling books, and she is a lead contributing writer for Shining Mentor magazine. Featured on CBS Radio, FOX News, and SimpleReminders. com, Carmella is also an online mental health personality with an extensive and engaged social media following.

She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, and her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Auburn University. She received the honor of having her research thesis published in the scholarly journal of Contemporary Issues in Education Research.

Her most valuable experiences have been through her relationship with her husband, Aron, and as the mother of 2 sons in a world that demands men and boys conform to unrealistic masculine ideals.
